Krispy Kreme Donuts are Oh So Good

Who hasn't had a Krispy Kreme Donut, or twelve? I couldn't tell you how many I have eaten (but my rear end might). My favorites are the custard filled chocolate iced, which you can see are not in this picture, because I ate them.



The last two scrunched up glazed donuts didn't last long either.

Ooooh my stomach!

Happy Birthday Cake

So it was Mom's birthday. What better way to show her our love than to make her a cake.

Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix, some Pillsbury vanilla frosting, sprinkles and purple gel for the funny face and "Happy Birthday" words on the side.



It was delicious, sweet, and the kids devoured it.

Next time, maybe I will make cupcakes. Yummy.

Mardi Gras Food

Okay, so I know Mardi Gras isn't here until February, but people are always getting ready and preparing for Mardi Gras here. Seriously.

So let's think about some Mardi Gras food. I love it how down here in New Orleans, even while there are Christmas decorations in the store, there is also Mardi Gras stuff. Only the locals understand. And if you wait too long to pick up your purple, green, and gold goods, you will be out of luck as the stores seem to run out of the good stuff the closer it gets to carnival.

I just love the fancy Mardi Gras packaging you see with local products. My favorite being the Zapps chips with the masks and feathers! I'm a sucker for anything bright, shiny, and gluttonous, so these chips really do it for me.



Let me also give a shout out to Winn Dixie and Walmart's King Cake selection. Cream cheese filled, strawberry, even chocolate King Cakes out there. I want to eat them all!

Of course, king cake is best washed down with a nice cold New Orleans Daiquiri.

Mc Donald's Breakfast Burrito Expiration Dates

The other morning we looked at the clock and did the mad Mickey Dee's Dash right before their breakfast cutoff time, 10:00 am. They had been out of breakfast burritos, a real drag after rushing over there, but on this glorious day they had plenty.

But it was the first time I had ever seen an expiration date on fast food.

It had a label on it, which said: MUST USE BY 10:35 AM, and the date.



But it was already 10:28!!! By the time we got home, and I finished my hash brown, my Mc Donalds breakfast burrito had almost expired. Lucky for me, I was able to get it down with just a minute or two left.

So, what happens if it expires? All the scariness that we hear about McDonald's, I don't want to know. After all, there does exist out there a fully intact 1996 McDonalds Hamburger.

Maybe I would believe her if her hamburger had an expiration date on it! LOLZ!~

Crawfish Boil

Crawfish season seems to be over for now, but we have this glorious picture to remind us of how tasty a hot pot of boil can be.



In this picture, I see crawfish, potatoes, corn, onions, sausage, lemons, more crawfish, and I know there is some garlic in there! It was delicious. I savor this picture.

Macaroni and Butter

I don't think anyone can dispute the white-trashiness of this classic meal.

Macaroni noodles with butter.



Really simple recipe. Boil and cook your favorite pasta, drain. Add butter to taste, and you are ready to go.

And of course, you can add your favorite seasoning before eating. As you can see in this picture, I used some black pepper. :)
